Jason Pierre-Paul is making the best of the highly publicized hand injury he suffered due to a Fourth of July fireworks accident.

The New York Giants defensive end took the time to chat via FaceTime with 11-year-old Seamus Bohannon, who had parts of two fingers amputated after his hand was caught in a bike chain in early November, according to NJ.com's Jordan Raanan.

Seamus' sister Janie reached out Pierre-Paul on Twitter, asking for encouragement for her brother.

JPP gave Seamus tips about how to handle jokes or comments that will come due to his hand, to keep working hard, and to think positively.

"This guy, he didn't have to do that," Seamus' mother said. "We were just taken aback by it. My son is in his glory right now. Just the fact that someone was reaching out to him.

"It was a great thing for my son," she added. "The biggest thing was the smile. He couldn't stop smiling."
