Report: Dolphins believe Cameron Wake suffered torn Achilles

Melina Vastola / USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Dolphins believe defensive end Cameron Wake suffered a torn left Achilles tendon during their loss to the New England Patriots on Thursday, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.

Wake will undergo an MRI on Friday to confirm the diagnosis, but a torn or ruptured Achilles would end his season.

Following the game, Wake was seen on crutches, unable to put any weight on his left leg.

"We'll meet with the doctors tomorrow and take it from there," Wake told reporters.

The four-time Pro Bowler was playing his best football of the season over the last three games, with seven sacks during that time.

The 32-year-old could now be facing a lengthy rehab and an uncertain future in Miami.
