Report: Bills' Tyrod Taylor has sprained MCL, could miss multiple games

Jim Brown / USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor has a sprained MCL that could force him to miss multiple games, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.

The injury reportedly occurred when Taylor was illegally tackled from behind in the Bills' Week 5 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Here's the play in question:

Bills head coach Rex Ryan admitted Monday that Taylor is at less than 100 percent health, but identified an ankle injury as Taylor's primary ailment.

The Bills further hinted at Taylor's injury Tuesday when they signed quarterback Josh Johnson.

If Taylor can't play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, EJ Manuel is expected to start with Johnson as his backup.

Matt Cassel may have been a candidate to start in Taylor's place had the Bills not traded him to the Dallas Cowboys in late September.
