Josh Johnson has landed himself another emergency quarterback job.

A day after being released by the Indianapolis Colts, Johnson has signed with the Buffalo Bills. He spent the past two weeks as Matt Hasselbeck's backup with Andrew Luck sidelined by a shoulder injury.

Bills head coach Rex Ryan revealed Monday that starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor is nursing an ankle injury and hasn't been 100 percent all season. That has the Bills mulling starting EJ Manuel against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, according to Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports 1.

The Bills also checked the passport status of potential quarterback additions for their Week 7 trip to London, Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News reports. The team wanted to bring back Matt Simms because of his familiarity with their playbook, but he opted to stay with the Atlanta Falcons, according to Carucci.

Manuel struggled in his first two seasons with the Bills, but showed improvement during training camp and the preseason.

To make room for Johnson, the Bills released kicker Billy Cundiff. The move leaves Dan Carpenter as the only kicker on the roster.
