Falcons' White: 'I'm not disgruntled' with diminished role

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White wants to set the record straight after an ESPN report suggested he's unhappy with being an afterthought in the Falcons' offense.

"I'm not disgruntled," White told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's D. Orlando Ledbetter on Tuesday.

"I'm here for one thing and that's to win," White added.

White has been the centerpiece of the Falcons' passing game for years, but this season, he is just fifth on the team in receiving yards.

With Julio Jones off to a historic start, and free agent Leonard Hankerson emerging as the team's second receiver, ESPN painted White as dissatisfied with his diminishing role.

"This is nothing to get mad over," White said. "I can't control no plays that are being called in the huddle. All I can do is run the routes I'm supposed to run on the play and do my job. That's all I can do."

"That's the progression," he added. "I have to deal with that as is. I can't get mad and get frustrated or anything like that. It is, what it is."

At 33 years old, White is entering the twilight of his illustrious career, and holds nearly all of the Falcons' all-time receiving records.

He was left without a catch in both Week 2 and 3. Week 2 was the first time he hasn't caught a pass in a game since 2006.
