Report: Dolphins release Josh Freeman

The Miami Dolphins released quarterback Josh Freeman, according to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman.

Freeman signed with the Dolphins in April, but was released and re-signed by the club in July.

The former first-round pick last saw playing time in 2013 with the Minnesota Vikings.

Freeman holds a number of franchise records accrued during his four-year stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
