Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is under the NFL's concussion protocol after reporting symptoms following Saturday's preseason game, head coach Chuck Pagano announced Monday.

The Colts play their fourth and final exhibition game Thursday night, but Hilton was likely never going to suit up of for that contest regardless.

His chances of playing in the Week 1 opener Sept. 13 against the Buffalo Bills remain unclear.

Hilton was rewarded with a five-year, $65-million contract extension this offseason after putting together the most productive year of his young career in 2014.
