Rams' Tre Mason deemed questionable for season opener

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

St. Louis Rams running back Tre Mason is listed as questionable for the team's season opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

Mason suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. Rams head coach Jeff Fisher ruled Mason out of the Rams' final preseason contest, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Rams selected running back Todd Gurley with the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, but the former Georgia star is working his way back gradually from an ACL injury suffered last fall.

If Mason and Gurley can't suit up, it's possible that Benny Cunningham will be the team's Week 1 starter against the vaunted Seahawks' defense.
