Bengals' Dalton injures neck vs. Bears, leaves game as precaution

Kim Klement / USA TODAY Sports

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton suffered a neck injury in Saturday's preseason game against the Chicago Bears.

The Bengals quarterback sustained the injury while rushing for a one-yard touchdown, but head coach Marvin Lewis downplayed the severity of the ailment.

"He's fine," Lewis said, according to ESPN's Coley Harvey. "Taking him out was just precautionary."

Dalton went 6-of-6 for 52 yards before leaving the game.

AJ McCarron entered the game in Dalton's absence.
