Seahawks acquire Mohammed Seisay from Lions for reported 6th-round draft pick

The Seattle Seahawks have acquired cornerback Mohammed Seisay from the Detroit Lions in exchange for a 2016 draft pick, which Field Yates of ESPN reports is a sixth-rounder.

Pete Carroll told reporters following Sunday's practice that the team needed to add a corner in order to move some young defensive backs to safety.

Seisay signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Nebraska last season. He finished with five tackles in 13 games.

Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times notes that the acquisition of Seisay could be a sign the Seahawks are concerned about their health at cornerback. Jeremy Lane is out indefinitely following offseason knee and arm surgery, and Tharold Simon is recovering from shoulder surgery.
