New Orleans Saints tight end Orson Charles has been suspended for the first game of the season for violating the league's personal conduct policy, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Cincinnati Bengals' fourth-round draft pick was arrested in April 2014 for waving a gun at a driver and making an obscene gesture. He pleaded guilty to wanton endangerment in February.

Charles spent 2014 on the Saints' practice squad.
