Jets' Sheldon Richardson on arrest: 'I will do better'
Sheldon Richardson has broken his silence a day after being charged with resisting arrest and four traffic violations stemming from an alleged road race.
The New York Jets defensive tackle told reporters Friday: "I've got to do better. I will do better."
Richardson was allegedly clocked at 143 mph while trying to avoid police. He also reportedly had a loaded gun and a 12-year-old child in the vehicle, to which he offered up a somewhat bizarre explanation.

Jets head coach Todd Bowles appears ready to move forward, saying, "We're prepared to win without him." Bowles also isn't sure if Richardson will play for the team in 2015.
Richardson was suspended four games earlier this month for violating the league's substance abuse policy, for which he was also apologetic.
