Report: Junior Galette to visit Redskins

Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE / Reuters

Free-agent pass rusher Junior Galette, who was released by the New Orleans Saints earlier this week, will be visiting with the Washington Redskins on Thursday, according to Albert Breer of NFL Network.

Galette was let go by the Saints after a series of off-field incidents. On Wednesday, another report surfaced indicating Galette was reportedly charged with three misdemeanors after a traffic stop on July 7.

Despite the issues off the field, Galette had a strong campaign after signing a four-year, $41.5-million deal in 2014. He led the Saints in sacks last season with 10 and posted 12 in 2013.

The Redskins finished tied for 21st in sacks last season and could use some pass-rushing help to assist the newly extended Ryan Kerrigan after losing Brian Orakpo in free agency.
