Colts owner Irsay: I've had no contact with Goodell about Brady's suspension

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay is the latest NFL owner to refute a report that he and other owners are pressuring NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to uphold Tom Brady's four-game suspension for his involvement in the "Deflategate" scandal.

Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti denied having any discussions with Goodell about Brady on Sunday, and now Irsay is doing the same.

"That's not true at all," Irsay told Zak Keefer of the Indianapolis Star. "I haven't talked to Roger Goodell about Deflategate since late January. Not true. That's not the way things work involving someone else's business and someone else's team. It's not something I've ever seen, and I've been around ownership (in the NFL) for half a century."

Irsay, whose Colts are the team that first levied the allegations of impermissible ball deflation, said he last spoke with Goodell about Brady before Ted Wells' report was released and Brady was suspended.

Brady awaits word on whether his appeal will result in a reduction of his four-game ban.
