PHOTOS: Redskins' Duke Ihenacho tapes cleats to look like Chuck Taylors

File this one under either "too much time on his hands" or "well worth the time and effort," depending on how you feel about retro style.

Washington Redskins safety Duke Ihenacho took the field at OTAs this week in cleats taped up to look just like Chuck Taylor All-Stars, one of the most iconic sneakers ever.

Ihenacho called his work "a lil sloppy" because he was in a hurry when he made them.

The NFL doesn't permit players to wear unapproved footwear during games (just ask Cam Newton, who wore blue and red "Supercam" cleats during pregame warmups in 2014 but was forced to change into approved shoes for the game), but players are allowed to tape up their shoes.
