Arizona Cardinals

Johnson looking to earn a role in Cardinals backfield. After head coach Bruce Arians said David Johnson wouldn't simply be handed a job in the backfield, the rookie will have to find a way to earn it in training camp.

Cardinals drafted most players to be backups. During OTAs and training camp, all Cardinals rookies will need to impress coaches if they want to have a starting role once the season starts.

Honey Badger "free" after getting over issues. Tyrann Mathieu is finally healthy and looking forward to playing at a high level, as he admits he was playing tentative last year. "It just feels good to be free," he said.

San Francisco 49ers

Armstead being labeled a bust before practicing. Polarizing draft pick Arik Armstead is already being touted as a bust by many who didn't like the selection, which is an obviously unfair situation for the rookie.

Incoming receiver Simpson owns up to his past. After being arrested three times for marijuana- and alcohol-related offenses, Jerome Simpson is hoping to own his past and move forward.

Second-year cornerback Johnson hoping to fill void. With veterans Perrish Cox and Chris Culliver moving on, sophomore corner Dontae Johnson is looking to compete with a deep group of defensive backs.

Seattle Seahawks

Williams becoming comfortable in Legion of Boom. Newly acquired corner Cary Williams is ready to step up and replace Byron Maxwell, and he's learning some pointers from Richard Sherman.

Michael has prime chance to breakout. OTAs are a perfect chance for the talented Christine Michael to earn more carries with Robert Turbin dinged up and Marshawn Lynch out. Pete Carroll says coaches are pushing him.

Wilson's agent encouraged by contract talks. Negotiations between the two sides are progressing, and Russell Wilson is willing to play out his current deal if nothing is finalized before the season.

St. Louis Rams

Foles clarifies flight with military member. After a story circulated that Nick Foles gave up his first class seat to a member of the military, the quarterback issued a statement to clarify the situation.

Rams have interesting receiver battles shaping up. Deciding not to address the position in the draft or free agency, the Rams will have Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin, and Brian Quick as their top-three receivers.

Could Mason, Gurley be 1,000-yard rushing duo? With two young, talented backs in Tre Mason and Todd Gurley, the Rams could be poised to have a duo that share the ball equally and make the running game a real threat. Could they both rush for 1,000-plus yards?
