49ers will travel most miles in 2015, Eagles the least

The San Francisco 49ers will be getting a lot of use out of their team plane this season.

The 2015 schedule has the 49ers traveling an estimated 27,998 miles – 5,116 more than the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, and Indianapolis Colts combined.

West Coast teams typically travel more than their East Coast counterparts, so it's not surprising the 49ers will be spending a lot of time in the air this season. What is surprising, however, is that they'll be traveling 1,546 more miles than the Miami Dolphins, whose schedule includes a Week 4 game in London.

As John Breech of CBSSports.com notes, mileage doesn't have a huge bearing on wins and losses. The Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, Dolphins, and Jacksonville Jaguars traveled the farthest in 2014 and finished with a combined road record of 17-23.

The Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers traveled the fewest in 2014 and finished with a nearly identical road record of 17-22-1.
