Powers has been working with the first-team defense in OTAs opposite cornerback Patrick Peterson, the Cardinals' official site reports.

Analysis:

Powers worked as the slot corner for the entirety of the 2014 season due to the presence of Antonio Cromartie in the secondary. However, Cromartie bolted to the Jets in free agency this offseason, leaving the No. 2 CB gig up in the air. While Powers may be better suited to operate in the slot due to his 5-foot-10, 187-pound frame, the six-year veteran will aim to fend off Justin Bethel for the opening as training camp and the regular season approach. In two seasons in the Arizona desert, Powers has so far accumulated 118 tackles (108 solo), 28 passes defended, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one sack in 32 games.
