Jets' Sheldon Richardson says he's skipping workouts to be with family

Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports

New York Jets defensive end Sheldon Richardson fired back at fans and media who have criticized him for skipping voluntary workouts with his teammates, saying they should mind their own business.

Richardson's absence is overblown, as are almost all player absences in May. He has given no indication in his brief career that he won't be ready to perform at a top level when the pads go on and the practices become mandatory.
