49ers' Carlos Hyde held out of OTAs with leg injury

As the San Francisco 49ers continue their offseason team activities this week, they're doing so without second-year running back Carlos Hyde.

Currently dealing with an undisclosed leg injury, Hyde was held out of practice Thursday in Santa Clara, head coach Jim Tomsula confirmed to reporters.

"He's working through the leg. It's nothing," Tomsula said. "We want you 100 percent. We're doing this offseason thing and we're doing things fast and we're doing all those things, so we're not going to push. It's not the season, so we're trying to treat that the right way."

Hyde's injury does appear to be relatively minor, but any time missed ahead of the year in which he's set to take over as the lead back for the now-departed Frank Gore is certainly notable.

The 24-year-old appeared in 14 games in his debut season after joining the club as a second-round draft selection, recording 83 carries for 333 yards and four touchdowns.
