Packers' Mike McCarthy impressed with rookie receiver Ty Montgomery

Ty Montgomery, the latest addition to the Green Bay Packers' homegrown receiving corps, is already impressing.

The third-round pick out of Stanford is turning heads during OTAs and head coach Mike McCarthy was quick to praise the big-bodied receiver.

"Very impressed," McCarthy said, according to Paul Imig of FOX Sports Wisconsin. "Obviously has a ton of explosion in his body. I thought he definitely stood out."

Montgomery will ease his way into the rotation among Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams, likely spending most of his rookie year playing on special teams. He had five returns for touchdowns in college.

General manager Ted Thompson's track record is pretty stellar, finding Nelson, Adams, Cobb, James Jones and Greg Jennings in the second and third rounds.
