Mayle (thumb) is expected to be "100 percent" by late-July, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Analysis:

Mayle is currently wearing a soft cast that was put in place following last week's surgery on his right thumb, but is expected to have that cast removed within two weeks. It's been an ongoing issue for Mayle since suffering the injury during a Senior Bowl practice, and the team decided surgery would be the course of action that gets him back on the field the quickest. Despite the inability to grip the football during the first few days of rookie camp, head coach Mike Pettine stated that "It should not be an issue in the fall."
