Panthers shuffle depth safeties

The Carolina Panthers signed safety Marcus Ball and released safety Kimario McFadden on Thursday.

Ball spent last season with the New Orleans Saints, appearing in 12 games and starting two. He made 16 tackles.

Prior to that, he spent two seasons with the CFL's Toronto Argonauts, helping the team win the Grey Cup in 2012.
