New York Giants left tackle Will Beatty was taken to the hospital Tuesday after suffering a torn pectoral while lifting weights, according to multiple reports.
The injury reportedly required surgery and will sideline Beatty for the next five-to-six months.
Losing Beatty for a significant amount of time is a tough blow for the Giants, as the 30-year-old has started all but one game for the team over the past three seasons. First-round pick Ereck Flowers and Justin Pugh would be the likely candidates to replace Beatty at left tackle.
