Making another much-needed addition to their offensive line, the San Diego Chargers agreed to terms with free-agent tackle Joe Barksdale on Tuesday, according to Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports.

Barksdale will sign a one-year deal that includes the veteran minimum base salary, a $350,000 signing bonus and $1 million in potential incentive earnings, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network adds.

A 2011 third-round draft selection by the Oakland Raiders, Barksdale's NFL career got off to a somewhat slow start, but he enjoyed a breakout season with the St. Louis Rams in 2014.

While going unsigned to this point in free agency could be disappointing after such a productive year, the 27-year-old landing with the Chargers is a strong fit for both sides.

Should Barksdale earn the starting right tackle job out of camp, former first-round selection D.J. Fluker could make the move inside to a guard position that better suits his abilities.

Barksdale started 29 games at right tackle for the Rams over the past two seasons, emerging as one of the unit's best run blockers toward the end of his time with the club.
