Bills OC: Speculation of EJ Manuel getting cut is 'furthest thing from the truth'

Andrew Weber / USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman squashed reports Tuesday that the team could cut EJ Manuel if they don't see significant progress from the third-year quarterback this offseason.

Roman said speculation that Manuel has fallen out of favor with the Bills is "the furthest thing from the truth," according to Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News.

Roman also noted that the starting quarterback job is open for the taking and he'll have an idea on the leading candidate after organized team activities, but plans to keep that information to himself.

The Bills added veteran journeyman Matt Cassel and former Baltimore Ravens backup Tyrod Taylor to their roster of quarterbacks earlier this offseason and have Jeff Tuel at their disposal as well. Roman was especially complimentary towards Taylor on Tuesday, calling him well-rounded and dynamic.
