Lions' Ziggy Ansah pitches in to help send kids to Detroit Tigers game

Detroit Lions pass rusher Ezekiel Ansah took it upon himself to help out a few elementary school students.

Four teachers of special education from Dye Elementary in Flint, Mich. were hoping to take their 40 students to a Detroit Tigers game last Thursday. Even though the Tigers donated the tickets, the students and faculty still had to raise money themselves in order to get a bus, as well as food and drinks at the game.

After selling popcorn throughout the year to generate funds, the group was still short. That's when Ansah stepped in.

Ashley Keskes, a teacher involved in the fundraising, posted a Facebook message stating the group was still missing a portion of the funds. Word eventually reached one of Ansah's representatives and he took care of it.

"I just couldn’t believe it," Keskes told Michael Rothstein of ESPN. "I was so excited. He’s a pretty big star. So all the kids who went got a hot dog, chips and pop provided for the day through his donation."

Well done, Ziggy. Well done.
