Report: Lions' Glover Quin restructures deal, creates $2.17M in cap space

Tim Fuller / USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Lions safety Glover Quin has restructured his contract to create $2.17 million in salary cap space for his team, ESPN's Field Yates reports.

Don't worry about Quin's wallet, though; the veteran simply agreed to convert $3.255 million of his 2015 base salary to a bonus, pushing his cap hit into the future. The restructuring will actually ensure Quin gets paid sooner.

This is the second time Quin has reworked his deal in the past nine months.
