AFC North Notebook: Shelton picks up Goodell; Ravens beat Steelers to Williams

USA TODAY Sports / Dennis Wierzbicki

Welcome to a special draft edition of theScore's AFC South Notebook.

Baltimore Ravens

Perriman to use drops as motivation. One of the lone criticisms about Breshad Perriman's game is his inconsistent hands, but the rookie wideout vows to use his drops as motivation in Baltimore.

Ravens beat Steelers to Williams. The division-rival Steelers appeared to be pursuing a trade to land tight end Maxx Williams in the second round, but the Ravens beat them to it.

Davis motivated by draft slide. Upset after unexpectedly falling to the third round, defensive tackle Carl Davis is all the more motivated as he heads into his rookie season with the Ravens.

Draft Grade. The Ravens received high grades from theScore for managing to add the talent they did at the top of the draft.

Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals look to future in first round. The pick may have come as somewhat of a surprise given their current roster needs, but the Bengals clearly addressed the future at offensive tackle with Cedric Ogbuehi in the opening round.

Dawson comparing to Burfict. Having fallen in the draft as a result of his measurables moreso than pure on-field ability, linebacker Paul Dawson is drawing comparisons to Vontaze Burfict.

Hardison an intriguing talent. Yet another defensive tackle selected by the Bengals in the middle rounds, Marcus Hardison brings plenty of upside to an already talented front four.

Draft Grade. After addressing both immediate and future roster needs in the draft, theScore gave Cincinnati the top draft grade of any team in the division.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Dupree with plenty to offer. As broken down by the Steelers' official website, there's a lot for fans to be excited about when it comes to first-round pass rusher Bud Dupree.

Golson's skills make up for size. Second-round cornerback Senquez Golson may be undersized by NFL standards, but the Steelers are confident that everything else he does on the field will allow him to overcome that obstacle.

Steelers announce 12 UDFA signings. Following their eight draft selections, the Steelers also announced the signings of 12 undrafted free agents. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN takes a closer look at each player.

Draft Grade. The Steelers were able to find some impressive value in the first round, but a relatively average class from that point on landed them a mediocre grade from theScore.

Cleveland Browns

Browns introduce top picks. First-round selections Danny Shelton and Cameron Erving had their first opportunity to meet with the media in a joint press conference held Friday.

Team likes Johnson's versatility. Though second-round pick Duke Johnson may be listed as a running back, the Browns plan to use his unique skill set in as many areas of the game as possible.

Shelton picks up Goodell. There have been some interesting moments on stage at the NFL draft over the years, but Shelton bear-hugging commissioner Roger Goddell may just be the best one yet.

Draft Grade. Putting together a strong and deep class of prospects earned Cleveland one of the division's highest grades from theScore.
