Packers select TE Kennard Backman in 6th round

The Green Bay Packers selected tight end Kennard Backman out of UAB in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Tight end is a position of need for the otherwise-loaded Packers' offense, as Richard Rodgers and Andrew Quarless are their incumbent starters. With a strong training camp, Kennard could legitimately emerge as the team's starting tight end.
