The New York Giants have selected safety Mykkele Thompson out of Texas in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft.
New York moved up to take safety Landon Collins early in the second round, and now Thompson gives them another option in the secondary.
The Giants lost Stevie Brown and Antrel Rolle in the offseason, so New York is rebuilding its defensive backfield.
