Ex-kicker calls Tim Tebow 'the single worst quarterback I ever saw in my career'

Former NFL kicker Jay Feely played with and against a lot of quarterbacks during his 14-year career, but says none were worse than Tim Tebow.

"He's such a dichotomy for me. Because I really respect the person, the man, the things that he believes in and the things he does off the field," Feely said during an interview with "The Jim Rome Show," which will air Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime. "He was the single-worst quarterback I ever saw in my career in the NFL.

"Like, I watched him one day, I sat and watched him do routes on air with Ken Whisenhunt as we were playing the Broncos," Feely continued. "And routes on air, there's no DBs, you know exactly what he's going to run, there's no pass rush. He had like 13 incompletions in routes on air. Jim, we could go out and do routes on air and we would complete most of our passes."

Tebow hasn't thrown a touchdown pass since 2011, when he was a member of the New York Jets. The former first-round draft pick is now looking to resurrect his career after signing a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles

Feely has a theory on why Chip Kelly decided to bring in Tebow after trading for Sam Bradford:

"He thinks his system is better than everyone's and his system's going to work, and it doesn't matter if he gets rid of star players like DeSean Jackson or LeSean McCoy, I think he thinks he's smarter, so I can take a guy that everybody else has quit on and I make him work and utilize him."
