The Tennessee Titans have selected fullback Jalston Fowler out of Alabama in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, using the 108th overall selection.

The Titans acquired this pick in a trade with the New York Giants, who acquired the Titans' second-round selection in the process.

Fowler is a big, bruising fullback who figures to open up running lanes for the Titans' running backs from day one.

Strengths

  • Size and strength are adequate for the physical demands faced at full back.
  • Can catch the ball out of the backfield, tallying 11 receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns as a senior.
  • Aggressive and plays with no regard for personal safety. Does a good job covering the ball up in traffic (ESPN.com).

Weaknesses

  • Shoulder-blocker. One-hitter. Needs to get hands involved more often in order to sustain. Doesn't run through blocks and tends to gather, then strike (NFL.com).
  • More of a Jack-of-all-trades as opposed to dominating as a blocker, pass-catcher or runner.
  • Sustained a significant PCL injury in 2012; knee durability could be a concern for some teams.
