Cowboys' Morris Claiborne expects to be cleared by training camp

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne expects that he and his surgically repaired knee will be cleared for a return by training camp.

"I can't wait," Claiborne said Friday, according to Mark Lane of FOX Sports Southwest. "Like I said, it's one of those things. It's a day-by-day thing. I'm getting better each and every day; getting stronger each and every day. You know, that's all I can ask for at this moment."

Although he has recently began running, Claiborne will miss the Cowboys' organized team activities for the third offseason during his four-year career.

The fact that he has been able to begin recovering mobility is a good sign.

"I was at a point where people thought I wasn't going to walk again," Claiborne said. "I'm in a better place now in my life and in coping with my injuries and coming back from them."

The sixth-overall pick in the 2012 draft has been a disappointment for the Cowboys thus far, amassing just three interceptions in three years.

This will be a make-or-break year for Claiborne as he enters the final year of his rookie deal and, even though Jerry Jones has said he believes Claiborne has earned a fifth-year option pickup, it seems a poor season or another significant injury would end his time in Dallas.
