Denard Robinson says he's back to full health after season-ending foot sprain

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson was one of the lone bright spots in another harrowing campaign for one of the league's least successful clubs.

Robinson rushed for 582 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games before his season came to a crashing halt after suffering a foot sprain.

The converted quarterback said he's rehabbing well and is back to full health.

"My foot feels great. I've been doing a lot of rehab and I feel like I'm 100 percent. We have some of the best trainers and I'm just glad I’ll be back and 100 percent for next season," Robinson told SB Nation's Ryan Day.

At Michigan, Robinson was known for his evasiveness in the open field while scrambling out of the pocket. The Jaguars saw his potential as an NFL-caliber running back and selected him in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Robinson also spoke about his transition to the new position.

"I had to put on weight for sure and grow as a player," Robinson said. "Mentally, it meant learning little things like taking a handoff or big things like pass protection, getting in front and blocking guys, and protecting the quarterback."

Jacksonville appears to be quietly ascending, adding tight end Julius Thomas and right tackle Jermey Parnell in free agency. With Robinson back to full health, the Jaguars are slowly but surely developing their offensive core.
