Report: Packers will retain Sean Richardson after matching Raiders' offer sheet

Kyle Terada / USA TODAY Sports

The Green Bay Packers will retain safety Sean Richardson, matching an offer sheet presented to him by the Oakland Raiders, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport

Richardson recorded 25 tackles in 2014, playing in all 16 games for the Packers.

The offer sheet was for one year and $2.55 million, according to Rapoport. Green Bay had until Monday to match Oakland's offer.

Richardson joined Green Bay in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. The 25-year-old is expected to remain in his role as Morgan Burnett's backup.
