AFC West Notebook: Talib being investigated for assault; Chargers exercise Ingram's option

Denver Broncos

Talib under investigation for assault. Denver Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib is under investigation for aggravated assault stemming from an incident at a Dallas nightclub.

Miller enters season totally unfazed. There is a growing faction of people that believe the Broncos are in decline, with Peyton Manning struggling at the end of the year and a switch to a 3-4 defense. However, Von Miller remains confident as ever, and believes Manning will return to "classic" form. 

Daniels will likely shine in Broncos' offense. Numberfire.com broke down whether Owen Daniels will succeed in the Broncos' offense due to his own talent, or as a byproduct of playing with Peyton Manning.

Kansas City Chiefs

Man sentenced to 15 years in jail for killing ex-Chiefs cheerleader. Roy Lee Maney was sentenced to 15 years in prison for his role in the death of former Chiefs cheerleader Tiffany Mogenson. Maney had been drinking prior to getting behind the wheel and crashed into Mogenson. 

Berry's brother says safety doing well in treatment. Eric Berry is undergoing treatment for Hodgkin lymphoma after being diagnosed with the form of cancer late last season. Berry's younger brother, Evan, said the star safety is recovering well.

Wide-open race in the secondary. Kansas City's secondary depth is depleted, and ESPN's Adam Teicher broke down the battle for starting jobs entering the 2015 season.

San Diego Chargers

NFL surveys fans about new stadium. The NFL presented a survey to Chargers fans about the viability and design of a new stadium. Some questions included whether the fans would support public tax funds being used to build the new venue.

Watt embraces starting role at center. Chris Watt became the Chargers' center in his first professional season. After Nick Hardwick retired in February, Watt became more comfortable embracing his starting position.

Chargers exercise Ingram's fifth-year option. San Diego exercised outside linebacker Melvin Ingram's fifth-year option. Ingram, who was San Diego's first-round selection in 2012, fought through injuries the past two seasons. 

Oakland Raiders

Raiders re-sign Streater. The Oakland Raiders re-signed wide receiver Rod Streater, along with nine other players, Wednesday. Streater caught nine passes for 84 yards and a touchdown last season.

Crabtree leaves visit without contract. Michael Crabtree is arguably the best wide receiver available and met with the receiver-starved Raiders. However, he left the meeting without a contract, and Oakland will likely pursue another wide receiver through the draft. 

Oakland signs Richardson to offer sheet. Oakland signed Green Bay Packers restricted-free-agent safety Sean Richardson to an offer sheet. According to terms of the offer, Green Bay has until Monday to match it, or let Richardson join the Raiders.
