Making his first official team visit since becoming a free agent early last month, veteran receiver Wes Welker met with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday.

However, Welker left the meeting without a new contract according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport

Welker, of course, spent two years in Miami near the beginning of his pro career before being dealt to the division-rival New England Patriots in 2007 and going on to become one of the NFL's most consistent receivers over the next six seasons.

Though he remains an intriguing name given the strong career he's put together, Welker will turn 34 years old later this spring and is coming off a two-year stint with the Denver Broncos in which his impact dropped off significantly.
