Report: Lions' James Ihedigbo won't report to team activities without new deal

Tim Fuller / USA TODAY Sports

James Ihedigbo was an integral part of the Detroit Lions' defense in 2014 and wants to be compensated accordingly.

Ihedigbo's agent said that his client will not participate in any Lions' activities without a new contract, according to Brad Galli of WXYZ Detroit.

The 31-year-old is owed $1.1 million next season with a year remaining left on the contract he signed with Detroit last summer.

In 13 games last season, Ihedigbo recorded 71 tackles, three forced fumbles and four interceptions, forming an elite duo with Pro Bowl free safety Glover Quin.

Isa Abdul-Quddus would likely take over for Ihedigbo in the event he holds out throughout the summer.
