Although he didn't win a Super Bowl, Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell still made the trip to the White House.

Campbell played basketball with President Barack Obama over Easter weekend while taking his children to the White House Easter Egg Roll.

The Cardinals' star was approaching the White House's basketball courts when he had a chance encounter with the president.

After they played, Campbell commented on the commander-in-chief's hardwood skills.

"Man, he has a pretty good jumper," Campbell said to ESPN.com's Josh Weinfuss. "I was impressed. I heard he played basketball back in the day."

Obama is an avid basketball fan and is never reluctant to show his affinity for his hometown Chicago Bulls. The president's brother-in-law, Craig Robinson, coached Oregon State for six seasons before being fired in 2014.

"It was just cool realizing he was a normal guy," Campbell said. "Kinda like the first time when I was a kid I met an NFL player. You realize they're just normal people with a cool, cool job."

The 28-year-old was invited to the White House as part of First Lady Michelle Obama's health initiative Let's Play!, which encourages healthy eating and active lifestyles for children.

"This is not an everyday thing," Campbell said. "This is one of the perks of the job. You play football and you do well enough, sometimes the White House calls and invites you to be a part of the something that's going on."

Campbell remarked it won't be the last time he'll see the president. Per tradition, the president has the Super Bowl-winning team for a visit where he makes a speech, poses for photos and is often gifted a jersey from the club.

For Campbell and company, a visit with the president may be additional motivation for the Cardinals to make a deep playoff run.
