Rams' Jeff Fisher on Kenny Britt: 'We should see a lot more out of (him) this year'

Kenny Britt has experienced a lot more downs than ups in his six-year NFL career, but that hasn't stopped St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher from taking a chance on the former first-round pick.

Fisher drafted Britt in 2009, when he was coach of the Tennessee Titans, and signed him to a one-year prove-it deal with the Rams in March 2014. He showed continued faith in Britt this offseason by bringing him back on a two-year contract.

Britt enjoyed a productive 2014 campaign in St. Louis, finishing with a team-high 748 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games. But Fisher thinks he's capable of much more.

"I can kind of share the same issue Kenny does and that's we think he can be better," Fisher said, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN. "He thinks he can be better. He thinks he can be more productive. He's looking forward to the offensive changes. I think yeah, we should see a lot more out of Kenny this year.”

One thing that should help Britt and the rest of the Rams' receivers is more consistent quarterback play. Britt showed he was capable of making big plays down the field last season, and with Nick Foles installed as the team's starting quarterback, he should see more opportunities to do so in 2015.
