Dashon Goldson's tenure in Tampa Bay has come to an end.

The Buccaneers announced Friday that they have traded the two-time Pro Bowl safety to the Washington Redskins for a 2016 draft pick.

The Bucs also sent a seventh-round draft pick in 2016 to the Redskins and will receive a sixth-rounder in exchange, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

Goldson was due $7.5 million in 2015 as part of the five-year, $41.25-million contract he signed with the Bucs as a free agent in 2013. Four million dollars of his 2015 salary was guaranteed, which, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, Tampa Bay has agreed to pay despite the trade.

Goldson appeared in 27 games for the Bucs over the past two seasons, recording 153 tackles, one forced fumble and an interception.

In Washington, Goldson will be reunited with Scot McCloughan, who was the San Francisco 49ers' vice president of player personnel when he was drafted by the team in 2007. The Redskins hired McCloughan as their general manager in January.
