Broncos' Demaryius Thomas to skip offseason program

It looks like the Denver Broncos won't be seeing much of wide receiver Demaryius Thomas over the next few months.

Thomas, who was assigned the franchise tag earlier this month, told ESPN's Jeff Legwold that he won't be joining quarterback Peyton Manning at his annual workout at Duke or attending the Broncos' offseason program. He has yet to sign the tag and is not expected to do so until closer to the July 15 deadline.

Thomas said he has been working out in Atlanta and hopes the two sides can come to an agreement on a new contract. He won't hold it against the team if a deal fails to materialize, though.

"As a player you want to get a deal, but if it doesn't happen you just got to deal with it," Thomas said. "You just go out and play.''

The 27-year-old enjoyed a career year in 2014, catching 111 passes for 1,619 yards and 11 touchdowns.
