Redskins' Jay Gruden aiming to get Pierre Garcon more touches in 2015

After setting a franchise record for receptions and racking up a career-high 1,346 yards in 2013, Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon experienced a considerable dip in production last season.

Redskins head coach Jay Gruden hopes that by ensuring stability at the quarterback position and spreading the ball around more evenly, he can get Garcon's numbers back up in 2015.

"I think his production was probably down a little bit because DeSean wasn't here the year before," Gruden said at the NFL's annual meeting, according to Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWashington.com. "Having DeSean (made) his numbers decrease a little bit. But moving forward, we can get his numbers back up a little bit.

"I think we missed him on a lot of opportunities," Gruden continued. "That just comes with playing (wide receiver) with three quarterbacks, which is never the ideal situation, obviously. That hurt all the receivers."

Jackson led Washington with 1,169 yards and six touchdowns in 2014, while Garcon finished with 752 yards and three touchdowns.

"I think we need to spread it out and be diverse in what we do and get these guys these touches," Gruden said. "These guys work extremely hard. They are extremely talented. For us not to give them opportunities to make plays down the field is silly. So, Pierre, DeSean, Jordan Reed, Andre (Roberts), Ryan Grant, like I said, those guys are going to get their opps."
