NFC West Notebook: Cardinals make defensive moves; all signs positive on Bowman

Arizona Cardinals

Position changes on tap for defense. A year after spending a third-round pick on defensive end Kareem Martin, the Cardinals are moving him to outside linebacker. The team also plans to move Matt Shaughnessy to the defensive line. 

Bowles would give appendage for Arians. Former Cardinals defensive coordinator and current New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles says he loves Bruce Arians so much he would "lose (his) left arm over him."

Cardinals will draft Mr. Irrelevant. The Cardinals were awarded one compensatory pick in the draft and it just so happens to be the final selection

St. Louis Rams

No timetable for Quick's return. Brian Quick is reportedly making progress in his recovery from a torn rotator cuff, but there is still no timetable for his return to the field

Fairley signing among free agency's best. The guys over at Pro Football Focus included the Rams' contract with Nick Fairley as one of the five best moves in free agency

Ten best hits. The Rams' official website compiled video of the ten best hits delivered by the team's defense last season

Seattle Seahawks

Seahawks first in draft success. According to ESPN Stats & Info, the Seahawks rank first in the NFL in draft production since 2002. 

Three assistant coaches added. The Seahawks bolstered their coaching staff, filling the spots vacated by Dan Quinn and Marquand Manuel and the promotions of Kris Richard and Rocky Seto with three new hires

Lynch to star in rap video. Rap star Ludacris wrote and recorded a song called "Beast Mode" inspired by Marshawn Lynch. The latter will reportedly feature in the music video for the song.

San Francisco 49ers

All signs positive on Bowman. The 49ers desperately need NaVorro Bowman to return to form in 2015 and the latest news is that the linebacker has been at the team facility every day and is making very encouraging progress

QB coach outlines Kaepernick's progress. Colin Kaepernick just wrapped up a 10-week training session with quarterback coaches Dennis Gile and Mike Giovando. Gile had a lot to say about what the team worked on

Tomsula credits NFL Europe experience. Jim Tomsula may be inexperienced as an NFL head coach, but he's not inexperienced as a head coach in general. He says his time in NFL Europe forced him to learn to be flexible and a good team-builder
