Report: Teams interested in trading for Buccaneers' Mike Glennon

Ron Schwane / USA TODAY Sports

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith had an apparent change of heart in regard to quarterback Mike Glennon's future prospects with the club.

Smith lobbied for Glennon last month, telling reporters he thought he could be a franchise-calibre quarterback.

The Buccaneers hold the first-overall pick in next month's NFL Draft where theyre widely expected to select either Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota, quarterbacks who captured the last two Heisman Trophies.

With the draft upcoming, Smith confirmed to ESPN's Pat Yasinkas the Buccaneers are fielding interest in hopes of trading Glennon.

Glennon was supplanted as starter by Josh McCown, who sputtered through the 2014 season.

Just 25, and sporting a nearly 2:1 career touchdown to interception ratio, Glennon could be a low-risk, high-reward proposition for a team in need of a quarterback.
