NFL corrects compensatory picks awarded to Broncos, Steelers, Panthers

Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

As confusing as the compensatory draft selection process can be for fans, the NFL appears to have had similar issues when handing out this year's picks.

Two days after initially announcing the additional picks, the league corrected mistakes made in relation to the Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday.

Instead of having a seventh-round selection at the 252nd overall spot, Pittsburgh receives a sixth-round selection at No. 212 overall, the team announced.

The Broncos see their sixth-round pick, initially the 208th overall slot, become a seventh-round pick at No. 250 overall, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

The change will see the Broncos making three consecutive selections toward the end of the seventh round:

The Panthers' sixth-round compensatory pick was changed to a fifth-round pick. Carolina will now select 169th overall.
