NFL passes ineligible receiver rule; Ravens still haven't forgotten playoff game

After a Super Bowl run that saw the New England Patriots stir up some controversy with their creative use of offensive substitution packages, the NFL has made some changes to the rule book.

Going forward, receivers that report as ineligible will no longer be able to line up outside the tackle box as an eligible receiver otherwise would.

The issue, of course, recently came to the league's attention when the Patriots used an ineligible receiver to their advantage in mounting a comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Baltimore was admittedly upset with the play after the game, as head coach John Harbaugh claimed that the Patriots should have been penalized for what he called deceptive and illegal formations.

Though the rule has now been adjusted to avoid similar situations arising in future games, it seems the Ravens won't be forgetting that crushing playoff loss to the Patriots any time soon:
