Analysis:

While any offseason surgical procedure is notable when it comes to key skill players like Nelson, coach Mike McCarthy has downplayed his receiver's hip issue. "He had some postseason work done," McCarthy said of Nelson. "He'll be fine in a couple weeks. I've seen him. [I think] it's 6 to 8 weeks [recovery time], but really he should answer that. But it's nothing serious." McCarthy further noted that the issue Nelson had addressed was something that was "kind of hindering him after the Pro Bowl and something he felt he needed to get cleaned up." The wideout is coming off a career-high 98-catch season that resulted in a Packers' single-season franchise record 1,519 yards, to go along with 13 touchdowns.
