Seahawks GM John Schneider says 'nothing imminent' on Russell Wilson extension

Mark J. Rebilas / USA TODAY Sports

It's not a matter of if, but when Russell Wilson will get a massive contract extension from the Seattle Seahawks

That said, Seahawks general manager John Schneider spoke to reporters at the owner's meetings Monday and indicated that there is "nothing imminent" on that front.

This contradicts recent reports saying the two sides were closing in a deal.

Schneider did say that the Seahawks are hoping to get a contract done before the season, something the Indianapolis Colts aren't planning on doing with fellow 2012 draftee Andrew Luck.

The two pivots figure to get record-breaking deals and Luck will no doubt be anxiously awaiting Wilson's terms, so he can make his demands.

Wilson has taken Seattle to the Super Bowl in two of his first three campaigns and already has one Lombardi Trophy under his belt.
